Meet Marie: Painter, Inspiration, Real ZEJULA Patient
Marie was 45 years old when she was diagnosed with late stage ovarian cancer. Two years later, she was forced to retire from teaching due to her illness. After her second round of chemotherapy, with her cancer in remission, her husband encouraged her to sign up for a mixed media art class at their local art studio. Around this same time, Marie began taking maintenance treatment as part of the NOVA study.
Marie had a love and appreciation for the arts her entire life, but had not created anything herself since she started her teaching career. More time without progression allowed Marie to pursue her old passion for art and to begin to create again. She even started a cooperative with four other artists in Indiana that they titled "IndyArtWerkz." They enjoyed showing their work throughout the state, encouraging each other during their weekly open studio.
